Several years ago while sitting under my desk at work crying I realized that my life had fallen so far out of balance that it had become unsustainable. I was a perfectionist, an overachiever, and my to-do list was endless. I was frequently anxious and fought to keep depression at bay. I knew something needed to change, but I wasn’t sure where to start.

I found my way onto a yoga mat for the first time in several years, and now several years later, I know that was the first step in my healing process. I took one step at a time, learning and growing, always with the goal of rediscovering myself as well as carving out balance in my life.

I am now a certified yoga teacher and continue to learn something new about myself each time I step onto my mat. But I have found so many other tools and techniques to take care of myself and my family beyond just the physical yoga poses (asana).
